FOR SALE

1932 Ford 5 Window Coupe - Steel

This 1932 Ford 5 Window Coupe is an original steel car and an original surviving built hot rod that was built in the early 1960's in Hollywood, California.

This is a very rare and unique car, to find a high end built Hot Rod that was built in the early 1960 era and is still pretty much the same as when built at that time.

The car was featured in Rod & Custom in November 2003 and August 2005. Also featured in Rolls & Pleats Issue 7, 2002.

The car is all Henry Ford 1932 steel to include door handles, bumpers, door lock, trunk handle, etc.

The paint is thought to have been done in the 1960 era, it is thought to be acrylic enamel. The paint has a few nicks and scrapes but is considered to be in excellent condition for paint that is approximately 60 years old.

Interior is finished in black naugahyde, which includes the trunk. Shows some wear but also thought to have been done in the 1960s era also.

Looks and smells like an old hot rod. Interior also consists of chromed garnish mouldings, chromedash, greenline Stewart Warner gauges, which all work. Amp gauge not hooked up.

Has a unique Lincoln steering wheel and custom built steering column.

The entire driveline of this car is said to have come out of a special edition 1959 Corvette race car.

283 cid 4 speed 4.10 gears

The 1959 chromed rear end also has very unique brake cooling scoops that were on the factory Corvette race cars.

Chrome custom built homemade traction bars, chrome coil over shocks, chrome driveshaft.

Chromed and drilled dropped axle with split chrome original wishbones. FI shock mounts with new socal chrome cover shocks. 40 Ford brakes front, 1959 Corvette drum brakes on the rear.

Original 1932 Ford frame with some areas reinforced for strength.

Some things upgraded by the current owner within the past 3 +/- years include:

- all new Haywire wiring installed in the car from front to back

-T-10 4 speed transmission fully rebuilt to include the Hurst comp plus shifter. New clutch and pressure plate.

-The 283 cid motor was fully rebuilt, balanced and dynoed and received a new Edelbrock 6x2 intake with new Chrome Stromberg 97 carbs.

-New exhaust with scavenger pipes

-New front crossmember and boxing of frame from firewall up

-New master cylinder and front brake lines

-Upgraded steering to a new Vega style steering box

-New tires

This car is a very unique time capsule which would be impossible to duplicate.

Owner has thoroughly enjoyed owning and working on this very unique 1932 Ford and has decided its time for somebody else to become the new caregiver of this special ride.
